Thing 4, 5 and 6
I am not sure that we are allowed to post for 3 things at once, but I am going for it anyway. I have spent time all week doing many fun things with flickr. I am going to try the trading cards with our fourth grade when they do their states projects. It will add a little more spice. I made a magazine cover of my husband and his buddy fishing in Texas while I was hard at work in freezing Minnesota. I created new "looks" for two of my daughters using hairmixer.com. We will definitely play with the things in the Big Blue Labs some more. I also created an image using image chef of a guitar with the logo of my husband's revived high school band and posted it on my blog. Off to more great things!!

spell with flickr
I successfully spelled the word media and placed it on the bottom of my blog. Not sure how to get it anywhere else in the size I need. This flickr/blog is way to much fun and I need to quit and scrub the floor.

still on thing 3
I have successfully placed 2 photos on my new free flickr account. The second one is tagged 23thingsonastick, so hopefully it is seen by someone. I am going to play with this more tomorrow. So far it has been fun, but a bit time consuming.

Here is my attempt at uploading a photo to flickr from iphoto and then using the post to blog button. Hope it works.

Thing 3
I just revisited my google RSS feed page and added a few more feeds. I didn't think this was hard to do, but am not sure how to post it on my blog. I am not really sure how I will use it in school, but I can see some relevance to reading new information quickly when I am at home. I need to investigate a little further. Or I should say use it a little more. I am excited to get on to thing 4, but it will have to wait until another day. If someone is reading this blog would you please comment. Thanks

thing 2 on a stick
I just finished watching the video and reading the suggested articles describing Library 2.0. I agree with the ideas presented. I think that the general public is shifting in the way it accesses information and communicates and we need to "get with the program" and be able to offer expertise in these areas. We need to create ways that speak to people and offer services they need. Case in point-the English teachers in my small high school want me to purchase print encyclopedias, subscribe to the print Reader's Guide etc. and I feel that the kids don't get the information that way so we would be better off to spend what little money we have on online sources or additional computers in the media center designated for research purposes. Any opinions on this? I would love to hear them. I am excited to proceed with this endeavor and am looking forward to learning exciting current technologies. The frustrating part is that in learning this I am not allowed to use most of it in our school setting. All of the security on the network and machines prohibits much of this- blogging, im, flickr, you name it. Hopefully my new found knowledge will help me encourage the powers that be to "lighten" up and live a little. Later-
